Have you been inspired

by the success of the

British Cycling team in Rio?

Did you realise that a large percentage of the riders started at their local clubs?

Did you realise that Wolverhampton Wheelers already have 2 Olympians linked with the club and currently have 3 riders working with BC on Olympic Development programmes?

Do YOU want to get involved and be coached by BC trained coaches?

We run sessions at Aldersley Stadium on Mondays, Wednesday's and Friday's for all ages and abilities. If you want to have a go in a safe structured environment come and see us on any of these nights between 1900 and 2100 - ask for Ron or Gordon.

We can even provide the bike!

Also on our Facebook page are  many tributes to Joe and messages to his family and a link to a fundraising appeal for the Air Ambulance who attended the incident.

Sorry to have to share tragic news that Joseph Guy (Joe) was in collision with a vehicle Wednesday morning (31st May) and has subsequently died as a result. Joe was out on a training ride with Matty Lewis a devoted friend and training partner to him. All of our love and support goes out to Joe's family and friends.

The Wheelers  formed  in 1891  and still going strong

Brief History of the club

WWCC Recently celebrated its 125th Anniversary with a ride over to Boscobel House. This was the route of the first club run just after the club was formed - if you look closely you may see riders who were at the inaugural event.

The Wolverhampton Wheelers Cycling Club has almost 500 members aged five to 90 – and is healthier today than at any stage in its illustrious history.

How to join

What a week at the National Junior Track Championships event at Newport velodrome for Wolverhampton wheelers junior and youth rider's. Georgia picked up a national jersey in the Keirin and silver in the Sprint and another silver in the 500m TT. Will Manfield and Matt Lewis rode the scratch and points Matt qualified for both the scratch and points final taking a lap in the points qualifier. Both finals were full bore Matt finished 11th in the scratch. The 120 lap Points final was lined out with no rider's able to take laps, Matt just couldn't get in the right move to take points sprints. Will gave it everything in the Kilo and posted a respectable time. Sophie, Ethan and George competed in the scratch and points riding against a strong field and performed well. Sophie almost took max points in the final sprint after a 6 lap break, getting caught in the final 50 metres. George rode in the madison which was blown apart in the first sprint, he rode hard all race. Great to see the wheelers mixing it with the best.

Great success for Georgia Hilleard at the 2017 National Junior Track Championships
