Chairman's Message May 2020

A few brief words from the Chairman Wednesday 27th May 2020.

It’s been two months since we became locked down with the stadium closing and all events cancelled, although we are beginning to see the easing of lockdown from the Govt as the country cautiously moves slowly forward.

We are hoping that the Wheelers Committee can shortly arrange a virtual meeting so we can meet up online to share information and to discuss in advance how we plan to ease back and to get going again following COVID-19 protocol and BC guidelines.

On a positive note It may be possible to hold TT’s at the stadium in July if we get the clearance from BC which would be a great welcome, so let’s hope progress is made so we can try and arrange some local events for everyone.

Also, I have had confirmation that the new kit is leaving the factory on Friday and should be here to be distributed later next week with the online portal opening again for new orders.

Finally as most of you will be aware Shaun Mason managed to get a full page article in Cycling Weekly and the following week we received good publicity in the Express and Star on the increase in cycling with an opportunity for the club to embrace this moving forward.

As we look for the positives we will have Interesting times ahead, keep cycling and certain we will be taking care of our well being as we make progress.

Ride carefully.
Gary Burke.
