Exciting 3 Day Stage Race taking in the rolling roads of the beautiful South Shropshire countryside on Days 1 & 3 and supporting the RAF 100 Year celebrations on Day 2 with an Individual Time Trial followed by a Kermesse on the Airfield at RAF Shawbury.
The National B event is open to teams of 4 riders is organised by Rhino Velo Race Team, founded by local Shropshire racing legend Mike Jones. We are also lucky to have the support and sponsorship of Provision custom cycling clothing, founded by former UK road race Champion, Steve Joughin.
The event will start on Saturday 26th May at 10am with a TTT (road bikes only with no TT bars or TT specific helmets, calf guards etc allowed) up the famed 'Hope Valley' which is a test climb for local riders. Later that day there will be a Road Stage on rolling roads in the local area.
On Sunday 27th May there will be a one lap ITT (road bikes only as above) around the airfield at RAF Shawbury followed by a Kermesse on the airfield.
The grand finale and Queen stage will be a road race on the Stiperstones with a suitably grand standard finish atop this climb in Shropshire's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The event should produce a worthy winner!
There will be 5 stages over 3 days with Jerseys awarded after each stage for the overall leader, U23, KOM and Sprint classifications.
There will also be a healthy prize fund both to the Top 3 overall teams (3 riders to count) and the top 20 riders in the General Classification after Stage 5.
