Resumption of Sunday Club Rides 4th April
Following the guidelines issued by British Cycling the Wheelers are delighted to announce that club rides will restart this Sunday. There are a number of important points that all Wheelers need to conform with so please read all of this post.
Aldersley is currently being used as a vaccination centre so it is unlikely that we will be able to meet in front of the building so the entrance adjacent to the road is the obvious place. Please respect the security staff who will be in place on the main site. While you are waiting for the rides to start please do not congregate in groups of more than six. However once the ride starts, and as the Wheelers are an affiliated club, it counts as an organised sporting event so fifteen can ride. Each ride leader will take a list of names and the rides must not exceed fifteen riders. Ride leaders will carry suitable ID (Wheelers membership cards etc) in case the police pull a ride up. The cafe stop needs to be brief and the rule of six and social distancing needs to be followed.
9.00 depart Paul Horton Fast group (20+ mph average) Eccleshall no cafe stop
9.30 depart Phil Metcalfe and Paul Hammond Middle group(two groups if necessary) Great Haywood
9.30 depart Dave Brookes Classic group Red Lion Farm
As usual all riders need to be self- sufficient i.e. phones, food, drink, puncture outfits/tubes etc
